Voronet Monastery
Not far from Casa Humor, there is the famous Voronet Monastery which was founded by Steven the Great in 1488. Voronet is said to be "The Sixteenth Chapel of the Orient", due to its great western facade, called "The Judgement Day".
The Voronet blue is considered by many specialists to be unique in the world, and it is just as famous as "Rubens red" or "Veronese green". The exterior painting of Voronet Monastery was completed during the reign of Petru Rares, being considered one of the best examples of the Moldavian art of the Middle Ages.
The monastery is an important center both for pilgrimage as well as for the preservation of our traditional values, and it is visited by thousands of tourists from all over the world every year.
